What is Stewardship?

In their 1992 pastoral letter, Stewardship: A Disciple’s Response, the U.S. Bishops teach that a good steward is one who receives God’s gifts with gratitude; cherishes those gifts with responsibility; shares those gifts generously, from a sense of justice and love; and makes a return to the Lord, with increase.

 

How well are we stewards of what God has given us? We at Our Lady of Mercy Parish believe that God has given us much and in return much is required! We believe that we have an obligation to use our time, talent and treasure to build the kingdom of God here at OLM!

"On November 12, 2003 the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a statement, entitled Stewardship and Young Adults - An Invitation to Help Change the World, to Young Adults.  However, it is applicable to every parishioner.  You are encouraged to read and embrace the message in Young Adults and Stewardship."
